Lineamientos Generales de los Cursos de Idioma Inglés

NIVELES 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 Y 7:
PRINCIPIANTE, BÁSICO I, BÁSICO II, INTERMEDIO I, INTERMEDIO II, AVANZADO I Y AVANZADO II
(80 HORAS POR NIVEL)

El Centro de Educación Continua utiliza la serie de libros "Interchange, Third Edition" para los niveles básicos, intermedios y avanzados. Cada curso tiene un sílabo integrado y multifuncional que enlaza gramática, funciones comunicativas y temas a través de unidades cuidadosamente organizadas y secuenciadas. El sílabo contiene actividades para desarrollar las cuatro destrezas del idioma (escuchar, hablar, leer y escribir), como también pronunciación y vocabulario. Cada nivel es cuidadosamente calificado, con una progresión gradual de los temas de enseñanza y revisiones frecuentes.

NIVELES 8, 9, 10 Y 11:
ACADÉMICO I, ACADÉMICO II, ACADÉMICO III Y ACADÉMICO IV (80 HORAS POR NIVEL)

Los cursos académicos están diseñados para estudiantes en las etapas finales de su entrenamiento en Inglés. Los estudiantes podrán tener, luego de completar los cursos, un buen dominio de la gramática y el vocabulario, y obtendrán competencia en el conocimiento del lenguaje. Los materiales de estudio han sido seleccionados de una amplia gama de materias y temas. Se requerirá a los estudiantes demostrar las siguientes destrezas:

Comprensión del Inglés hablado, particularmente en contextos académicos.
Entendimiento crítico de Inglés escrito, incluidas las excepciones de libros y artículos en materias académicas.
Habilidad de expresar, por escrito y oralmente, ideas y opiniones con claridad y fluidez, así como también con precisión y abundancia de recursos.
Un elevado entendimiento de las culturas norteamericana, británica y otras.
Mejoras específicas en Inglés, necesarias para obtener el mejor rendimiento en el examen de proficiencia.

SUPERIOR LEVELS:

Level 12: Effective Speaking

This course is designed to teach students the oral communication skills they need in order to achieve their college and career objectives. The basic principles of speech communication will be covered: interviewing strategies, effective listening skills, stress management, group discussion rules/roles, the impact of culture, gender politics, and feedback on the overall effectiveness of communication.
All students will deliver to the class short talks designed to inform, persuade, and instruct. Students will collaborate frequently in pairs or small groups to provide opportunities for oral communication.

Level 13: Intensive Writing

This course is designed for individuals with a high level of proficiency in English and is ideal for those who use English to communicate in the workplace or wish to work or study abroad. The curriculum is focused on the elements of writing according to the academic standards of North America. Students are required to write four formal essays while also completing some in-class writing. Class time is devoted to advanced reading, discussion, and dynamic activities designed to help students improve all of their language skills.

Level 14: Intercultural Communication (for business, tourism, and intercultural living)

You’ve learnt the world’s most international language and now for the next challenge: learning how to use it, along with non-verbal communion, to overcome cultural boundaries. This course is ideal for anyone wishing to enhance their understanding of, and ability to interact effectively with, people from other cultures. Additionally, a certificate in Intercultural Communication demonstrates that you are committed to your professional development and are globally-minded.
